"Radio Star"'s WING shared his impressions of performing on stage with G-Dragon.
On the 15th, the MBC variety show "Radio Star" (hereinafter "Ras") aired an "Oh My GOD" special featuring Seo Hyun-chul, Jang Dong-min, Cha Ji-yeon and beatboxer WING.
That day WING said he performed a collaboration stage with G-Dragon. He recalled, "G-Dragon contacted me first, so we ended up performing together. 'Dopamine' exploded and it hadn't even been a week. G.D. hyung is quick with things like that. He contacted me right away."
He continued, "At first I thought it was just spam. But it was real. 'Is this a dream or reality, let's go see it right away,' I said. At first, honestly, we thought this was such a great opportunity that it might be better not to do it. I thought I had been booked as a band session, not as beatboxer WING."
When Kim Gu Ra pushed, saying, "Not even G-Dragon?", WING explained, "My goal is to go to the Billboard charts with beatbox. I thought they might mistake me for a session musician, so at first I refused."
It turned out there had been a misunderstanding in the delivery process. WING said, "G.D. hyung told me, 'It's G.D.'s concert but this stage is yours. You have to be the protagonist.' He even put my name on the back and shone a spotlight on me. Seeing that gave me strength, and I went to rehearsal."
Having beatboxed furiously in front of 30,000 people, WING showed perfect chemistry with G-Dragon. He added, "On the second day I rode a lift up and a manager behind me said, 'You have to do three more minutes.'"
When the hosts asked, "Was it an unexpected situation?", WING said, "There was some issue so I had to stall for time. It was my first time, so I wasn't sure what to do and just beatboxed," and he said the reaction was so good they later toured the world together.
WING said, "Because I couldn't keep up, I was replaced by a hologram and kept appearing. For me, it's good because I can let fans around the world know my name, isn't it?" He then performed the song he collaborated on with G-Dragon live in the studio, drawing admiration.
