Shin Seung-ho spoke about acting the same age as Jung Woo, who is 14 years older than him.
On the 16th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul, a press screening and press conference for the film "Jjanggu" were held. The event was attended by actors Jung Woo, Jung Soojung, Shin Seung-ho, Cho Beom-gyu, Kwon So-hyun, and director Oh Seong-ho.
The film "Jjanggu" is a cheerful and passionate challenge drama about the audition genius "Jjanggu" (Jung Woo), who keeps getting knocked down and frustrated but endures and gets up with a single wish to become an actor.
Shin Seung-ho, who plays the role of "Jang Jae," performed passionately as a friend of Jung Woo in the film. However, in reality their age difference is 14 years. Regarding this, Shin Seung-ho said, "Actually, as an actor, and if it weren't for the work Jjanggu, when else would I call senior Jung Woo by the nickname Jjanggu and have conversations in the role of a friend," trailing off at the end of his sentence and drawing laughter.
He continued, "The shoot was really so enjoyable. The senior always treated me very comfortably. Compared to works I have filmed before, this set did not have a large number of shooting days, but nonetheless, on every day I went to work and even on days I rested at home, I kept looking forward to that set. Personally, I think I had good chemistry with senior Jung Woo. It was an enjoyable process," he said.
He added, "I think I tend to ask directors for their opinions and want to hear their answers in every work. In that sense, even when there were only a few days left before shooting a scene, I always went and asked. He always gave clear answers. Within some boundaries, he told me to try doing what I wanted, and he did so. As a fellow senior director, I hesitate to evaluate, but he was truly warm. It was an opportunity to act and work excitedly," he said, creating a warm atmosphere.
Jung Woo said, "I wrote the script as if talking with my actual friends. (But) I'm sorry to Seung-ho, Beom-gyu, and Soojung about coming across as their peer," he said with a laugh, adding, "We actually practiced the script more than I expected beforehand. We did a lot of group readings," and described the warm filming atmosphere.
