Comedian Maeng Seung-ji recounted an experience in which she was mistaken for a nightlife worker and expressed great anger.
On the 15th, a video titled "Maeng Seung-ji, a comedian who didn't become famous on comedy shows and is known as the 'that kid is nice' icon as an Infinite Challenge reporter" was uploaded to the 'Noppakku Tak Jae-Hoon' channel.
That day Tak Jae-Hoon asked Maeng Seung-ji, "When you came in earlier, a staff member hinted to me that they were going to tell a really funny story," and Maeng Seung-ji recounted the episode, "This is Nonhyeon-dong, right? When I got out of the taxi earlier I thought, 'Where am I going?' and a man kept walking past me. He walked straight up and said, 'Are you going to work?'"
She then snapped, "Isn't that so upsetting. Oh, really!" which sent everyone into laughter. When he asked, "Who was that person?" she expressed anger, saying, "I don't know. I'm so damn pissed off."
Shin Gyu-jin asked in disbelief, "So what if she's going to work?" and Tak Jae-Hoon asked, "Why would you ask that if you don't even know who she is?" In response, Maeng Seung-ji said, "This is Nonhyeon-dong. There were clothing stores in front selling somewhat sexy clothes. I've heard a lot of rumors that Nonhyeon-dong is kind of that kind of hotspot (nightlife district)," and asked, "Have you been to Nonhyeon-dong often?"
To this, Tak Jae-Hoon said, "No. I'm not familiar with this place; I just saw it while passing by," and Maeng Seung-ji explained, "So I heard that kind of talk." Tak Jae-Hoon laughed, "Isn't it too early for that? At 4 a.m.?" and Maeng Seung-ji said, "Right. I must be... a damn bastard for life," adding, "He asked if I was going to work. Isn't that technically 'going to work'?"
When he asked, "So what did you say?" she said, "I said I'm a producer here and he thought I was guiding him. I thought he would say, 'Seung-ji, you can go down this way.' So when he asked, 'Are you going to work?' I said 'yes.' But when I asked, 'Where do you mean?' he said, 'a noraebang (karaoke).' That made me so upset! He's a damn bastard! Oh, it makes me so mad," she said in anger, blowing everyone away.
Shin Gyu-jin asked, "So what did you say?" and Maeng Seung-ji replied, "Huh? I'm a celebrity! I'm so pissed off! I'm so upset," which made everyone laugh again. Maeng Seung-ji said, "I said I'm a celebrity. When I told him I'm upset, he said, 'I'm sorry,' and left." Shin Gyu-jin asked, "Was he trying to recruit you or something? Why would he ask that?" and Maeng Seung-ji protested, "I don't know, he seems like a damn bastard," sounding aggrieved.
He said, "Isn't that outfit modest? It's not like a noraebang work outfit, is it?" because Maeng Seung-ji was wearing a non-revealing white dress. Tak Jae-Hoon asked, "What did you have on top? Could you bring an outer layer? We'll take a look," and Maeng Seung-ji, puzzled, asked, "So do I really look like such a floozy?" and brought the jacket she had worn.
Seeing this, Tak Jae-Hoon and Shin Gyu-jin burst out laughing, "Is that the outfit?" Maeng Seung-ji said, "Why! This is modest," and Tak Jae-Hoon pointed out the sparkly tweed jacket's material, "Isn't it a bit more flashy? It kind of shines." Maeng Seung-ji asked, "Doesn't it at least look somewhat cultured?" and Tak Jae-Hoon teased, "To me, it seems like someone who came out planning to party. What time is it now? You shouldn't go out now. It's safer to stay here until about 11:30 and then leave." Shin Gyu-jin also joked, "People will keep asking now. It's dangerous," drawing laughter.
Tak Jae-Hoon said, "Isn't some of this misunderstanding caused by photos of Maeng Seung-ji not reflecting her intentions? She gets so many of these misunderstandings. But there's nothing you can do about that," and Maeng Seung-ji reiterated, "I really always clean at home. I read books. I'm the Director General of an abandoned dog volunteer group. What are you talking about? A helper? Is he crazy! I also donate a lot," she insisted. Shin Gyu-jin said, "I think that rude man is probably watching this right now," and Maeng Seung-ji added, "He wasn't even an ajusshi. He looked younger than me. I don't know why a young guy would do that," giving an incredulous response that made everyone laugh more.
