Pop star Katy Perry has been accused of sexual assault by actress Ruby Rose, and past remarks by actress ANNA Kendrick have also been exhumed.
On the 14th (local time), Page Six reported that ANNA Kendrick's past interview claiming that Katy Perry touched her body is causing a stir.
According to the report, when ANNA Kendrick appeared on Conan O'Brien's eponymous talk show in the past, she recalled a strange incident with Katy Perry at the Grammy Awards. In the interview she said, "Katy Perry touched my cleavage with her hand. It was a strange night."
ANNA Kendrick then said, "She was very forward," and when asked why Katy Perry would act that way she referred to the deep neckline of the dress she was wearing. She joked, "In a way I invited that situation," and, "I would have been a little disappointed if no one had done that."
She added, "I've met Katy Perry before… she's kind of aggressive. I like that."
The interview was conducted as long as 20 years ago in 2014. With recent allegations that Katy Perry sexually assaulted Ruby Rose, past interviews are receiving renewed attention.
Ruby Rose, famous for the drama Orange Is the New Black, recently claimed that when she was in her 20s she was sexually assaulted by Katy Perry at a nightclub in Melbourne, Australia. Rose alleged, "Perry pushed my underwear to the side and rubbed her body against my face, and I experienced that until my eyes popped open and eventually threw up on her."
She added that she had made the incident public before but had reframed it as a "funny thing while I was drunk," and "later she offered to help me get my U.S. visa, so I kept it secret. But I did say she wasn't a good person."
She said, "I'm grateful to have survived this long and to be able to raise my voice, but it shows how much trauma and sexual violence can affect someone."
Katy Perry's side said, "The claims Ruby Rose raised on social media are not only completely untrue but dangerous and irresponsible lies," adding, "Rose has a history of making serious public accusations against various people on social media, and those claims have repeatedly been denied by the parties involved."
Katy Perry is currently dating former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau.
