Actor Ahn Hyo Seop shared an update on Jinwoo from "K-pop Demon Hunters."
Ahn Hyo Seop attended the production press conference for SBS's new Wed-Thu drama Sold Out Again Today at the SBS building in Mokdong, Yangcheon District, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 15th.
Sold Out Again Today is a seasonal romance delivering the thrills of "real-life sold-outers," unfolding as perfectionist farmer Matthew Lee (aka Mechuri) and sellout-obsessed show host Dam Yejin become entangled day and night.
Ahn Hyo Seop has won viewers' love with various works starting with Dr. Romantic, Then, I Became 17, Lovers of the Red Sky, Business Proposal and others. Ahn Hyo Seop said of being called the son of SBS, "The title is so embarrassing and I'm so grateful to have worked on so many projects. When I read a script and liked it, it was on SBS. Today feels like coming back home," adding, "Nothing changes if I feel burdened. I'm focusing on the present."
Also, Ahn Hyo Seop received love from fans worldwide last year through Netflix's "K-pop Demon Hunters" and had the honor of winning two Academy Awards. When asked whether he left the Lion Boys and was reborn as Matthew Lee, Ahn Hyo Seop said with a laugh, "I never left the Lion Boys. I just died."
He said that he actually recorded all of "K-pop Demon Hunters" before filming "O-Majin." When he received the script he read up to episode 3 and said, "I had done serious, emotionally draining work and was at a point of questioning my life's direction when I saw this project, and it healed me a lot."
He added, "The day-to-day life of Matthew Lee and Dam Yejin resonated with me. So rather than preparing hard, I tried to accept the rural environment where I filmed and experienced a farmer's life," saying, "I learned to drive a cultivator, and because I had to carry a senior, I practiced hard. To me it felt like a car, it was a 911 and a Huracán. If I prepared anything, it would be my mindset and safe cultivator driving."
Would there be pressure that this is the next work released after "K-pop Demon Hunters?" Ahn Hyo Seop said, "Actually, I'm grateful that people love the path I've taken. I'm really focusing only on O-Majin. If that trajectory helps, I'm thankful."
Meanwhile, SBS's Sold Out Again Today will premiere on the 22nd.
