BTS's side said parts of the title track from their fifth studio album "Arirang" (ARIRANG) were leaked before release, prompting legal action.
On the 13th (local time), Billboard reported that it had filed a lawsuit against an anonymous X (formerly Twitter) user suspected of leaking the song, lyrics and artwork before the release of "ARIRANG (Arirang)."
According to the report, BTS's agency BigHit Music initiated legal proceedings in the United States on the 9th to identify the account owner who leaked the material. BigHit Music asked the U.S. court to issue a subpoena requesting X disclose the user's identity.
BigHit said it plans to file a civil lawsuit against the user in Korea based on this information and will seek financial damages for copyright and trade secret infringement.
Meanwhile, BTS released their fifth studio album "Arirang" (ARIRANG) on Mar. 20 and made a full-group comeback for the first time in three years and nine months.
