Actor Nana delivered an overwhelming performance through the final episode of "Climax," leaving a deep impression on viewers. Her sincerity, completed through death, changed the flow of the drama and once again proved Nana's power as an actor.
On the 14th, when the curtain fell on the finale of ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama "Climax," Nana played Hwang Jung-won, the shadow informant of Bang Tae-seop (Ju Jihoon), serving as a core axis that calibrated the drama's tension until the final moment.
Nana's performance reached its peak in episode 9 and the finale. When the relationship between Jung-won and Sang-ah (Ha Jiwon) threatened to turn into a scandal and crisis arose, Nana hissed at the Lee Yang-mi side, "Do not touch her anymore," exuding a deadly intensity that raised the dramatic tension to its highest point. In particular, her choice to take a knife aimed at Sang-ah with her own body delivered great shock and emotion to viewers.
Nana's final move was itself a "game changer." The USB she exchanged for her life and handed to Bang Tae-seop contained decisive clues that Lee Yang-mi (Cha Joo-young) was the true perpetrator in Park Jae-sang's death, and this became a pivotal turning point that toppled the power cartel.
Above all, Nana's "acting transformation" shone. Having played a character who had long lived like a "shadow" by thoroughly restraining emotions, she exploded suppressed feelings in the scene where she shed tears and wailed to protect Sang-ah, showcasing dense expressiveness. Critics say Nana's deep gaze and desperate sobbing perfectly completed the narrative of the character Hwang Jung-won.
Through her agency, Nana sincerely shared her closing remarks: "It was a precious experience to feel the short but deep life of Hwang Jung-won," adding, "Playing the character made me reflect on my life and caused me to consider my future choices more deeply." She added, "I think Hwang Jung-won from 'Climax' will remain a meaningful character who led me in the right direction."
It will be interesting to see what new face she returns with after showing a completely changed side through this work.<
