Broadcaster Hong Jin Kyung candidly opened up about her changed life and feelings after her divorce.
On the 14th, a video titled "eldest sister Hong Jin Kyung appears, unpredictable talk begins lol" was posted on the YouTube channel "알딸딸한 참견".
On that day, guest Hong Jin Kyung said, "Sorry to talk about this, but there has never been a more peaceful time in my life than now," and added, "I no longer indulge in greed, and by lowering my expectations for happiness, my feeling of gratitude has grown."
She added, "People say they don't know happiness well, but setting the standard is important. I set that standard low."
She also said, "If the result falls short of my standard, that still comes as pain," conveying a realistic sentiment.
She also spoke pleasantly about her relationships with juniors. Hong Jin Kyung mentioned Cho Sae-ho and Nam Chang Hee and said, "We feel like friends rather than senior and junior," and noted, "If my condition looks bad, they call me three times a day," which drew attention.
She particularly revealed, "When I meet the younger ones, I don't pay for drinks. I deliberately hold back from paying," and confessed, "When we go for a second round, I pretend to be asleep when it's time to pay," which elicited laughter. She went on to say, "People think I take care of the younger ones, but actually they spend money and meet me," revealing a reversal in their relationship.
Meanwhile, Hong Jin Kyung married a businessman five years her senior in 2003 and has a daughter. Last year she announced her divorce after 22 years of marriage.
