Hollywood actor Ruby Rose (40) shocked people by alleging she was sexually assaulted 20 years ago by pop star Katy Perry (41), and Katy Perry's camp strongly denied it, calling it "an irresponsible lie."
According to Page Six's report on the 13th (local time), Ruby Rose, famous for the drama "Orange Is the New Black," claimed on her SNS (Threads) last Sunday that she was sexually assaulted by Katy Perry at a club in Melbourne, Australia.
Ruby Rose described the incident in detail, saying, "Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at the Spice Market club in Melbourne." According to her claim, when she was in her 20s resting with her head on a friend's lap, Katy Perry approached, pushed her underwear aside and rubbed her genitals against Rose's face. Rose added, "I opened my eyes in shock and vomited on her."
Explaining why she revealed it belatedly, she said, "At the time I didn't know how to deal with it, so I talked about it as if it were a drunk, funny incident," and "afterwards she agreed to help me get my U.S. visa, so I kept the secret. But I have continued to say she is not a good person," she alleged. Rose also said she visited a police station for an investigation, though the statute of limitations is likely to have passed.
Katy Perry's camp immediately rebutted the claim. Perry's spokesperson told Page Six, "The allegations Ruby Rose is spreading are not only clearly false but also dangerous and an irresponsible lie," rejecting them outright.
They also questioned the credibility of Rose's allegations, saying, "Ruby Rose has a history of publicly criticizing numerous people on social media in the past, and those claims have repeatedly been denied by the parties involved."
Ruby Rose's camp has not issued any particular response to Perry's rebuttal. As the truth dispute between the two stars over events 20 years ago intensifies, fans around the world are focusing their attention.
