The 130-year-old shrine of infertility treatment, a traditional Korean medicine doctor Baek Jin-ho, nicknamed the "modern-day samsin grandfather," appears on Seo Jang-hoon's Neighbor Millionaire.
On the 15th at 9:55 p.m., EBS's Seo Jang-hoon's Neighbor Millionaire will feature renowned physician Baek Jin-ho, who has carried on his family's practice for five generations since the Joseon Dynasty. This clinic, boasting a 130-year tradition, has become known not just as a local medical authority but as the "shrine of infertility treatment" that draws patients from across the country. Spectacular scenes occur, with people pitching tents and waiting overnight to receive treatment. Baek Jin-ho said, "BTS takes reservations, but we do not," showing a certain dignity, and he added, "There are patients who come in the fourth and fifth generations," underscoring trust and reputation that span generations.
This episode reveals the interior of a massive hanok clinic measuring 1,700 pyeong. The space, which fully captures Gyeongju's tranquil atmosphere and deep traditional beauty, creates the illusion of time travel to the Joseon era the moment one steps inside. Baek Jin-ho explained the philosophy behind the space, saying, "I referenced Bulguksa's Beomyeongru and Yangdong Village's Hyangdan when building it."
When Seo Jang-hoon said, "It must have cost quite a lot to build a hanok like this," Baek Jin-ho replied, "It cost as much as several apartments in Gangnam," causing a stir on site. In addition, privately owned items that resemble museum exhibits, such as an early printed edition of Donguibogam that has weathered centuries, a Joseon-era house call bag and medicine chest, attract attention. A replica of the Silla-era Cheonmachong Tomb golden crown also appears and steals the show. This golden crown, nicknamed the "Trump crown," was the design that drew attention when President Lee Jae-myung gifted it to U.S. President Trump at the Gyeongju APEC and boasts tremendous scale.
Meanwhile, Seo Jang-hoon and Jang Ye-won raise both laughter and tension as they try pulse diagnosis. After Baek Jin-ho took Jang Ye-won's pulse, he made a momentarily meaningful expression and accurately noted, "Her digestive function is weak and she is sensitive." Seo Jang-hoon quipped, "That's because you don't exercise," and delivered his trademark capital T–style nagging, provoking laughter. An unexpected twist occurred during Seo Jang-hoon's pulse diagnosis. Although Seo Jang-hoon had confidently said, "I'm super sturdy by nature, it's just because I'm older now," he ultimately broke down before Baek Jin-ho's sharp, pinpoint diagnosis.
He said, "The doctor said it exactly right," and reportedly poured out a string of long-hidden health concerns as if making a confession, arousing curiosity.
