Girls' Generation member Kwon Yuri is receiving praise for her detailed acting that invites repeat viewings.
Kwon Yuri is currently giving a passionate performance as Kaala in the play 'THE WASP (wasp)' now showing at Sejong S Theater.
'THE WASP (wasp)' is a two-person play about two classmates, 'Heather' and 'Kaala,' who reunite after 20 years, and it is being performed at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts S Theater in Seoul from the 8th of last month through the 26th.
The 'Kaala' Kwon Yuri plays is a character who, after unexpectedly reuniting with 'Heather,' whom she bullied during school, hears an unimaginable shocking proposal; Kwon Yuri portrays the character's complex emotional changes and instinctive choices revealed in extreme situations with dense acting, delivering an intense sense of immersion to the audience.
From rehearsal scenes, Kwon Yuri conveyed the character's complex inner world and emotions with a cold, settled expression and reddened eyes alone, and she continues to shine on the main stage.
Kwon Yuri portrays 'Kaala' as a woman pregnant with her fifth child who does not hesitate to smoke and curse and lives a rough life, so she does not stop at simple external changes but depicts rapidly changing psychological states three-dimensionally, raising the play's immersion.
Kwon Yuri also enriches the stage through chemistry with her fellow actors. In interaction with the triple-cast 'Heather' actresses Kim Ryeo-won, Han Ji-eun and Lee Kyung-mi, she completed the performance more richly with subtly changing expressions within the same scenes—eye lines, vocal tones, glances and gestures.
