Tving original "Yumi's Cells season 3" returned after four years, and immediately after its release it made a smooth start amid viewers' praise.
On the 13th, Yumi's Cells season 3, which released episodes 1 and 2, proved its popularity by ranking first in the number of paid subscribers on Tving. Episode 1, which aired on tvN, also recorded an average viewership rating in the 2% range, taking first place among cable·general programming in the same time slot.
It also generated buzz. In the week 2 drama popularity rankings for April released by Good Data Corporation, a K-content competitiveness analysis firm, it showed its presence by placing fifth.
Viewer response is also positive. "It's really fun," "I watched episode 2 in no time," "The wait was worth it," and other praise continue, raising expectations for season 3.
This season starts with the change of Yumi (played by Kim Go-eun), who after achieving her dream of becoming a writer was living a bland daily life. As a new responsible PD, Sun-rok (played by Kim Jaewon), appears in the emotion-sleeping cell village, the story begins to move in earnest.
Sun-rok embarrasses Yumi with blunt speech and unpredictable actions, but at the same time stimulates other emotions with feedback that pinpoints the work accurately. The ending, in which two people with polar opposite tendencies clash on a business trip to Busan, heightened curiosity about future developments.
Even after a four-year return, Yumi's Cells' characteristic empathy and excitement remained effective. The realistic emotional line, the cells' cheerful activities, and the chemistry between Kim Go-eun and Kim Jaewon combined to increase viewers' immersion.
Meanwhile, Yumi's Cells season 3 airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m. on tvN, and is pre-released on Tving at 6 p.m. on Mondays.<
