'Yumi's Cells 3' Kim Go-eun confessed that she likes a bland, uneventful daily life.
The Tving original 'Yumi's Cells season 3', which aired on the 13th (directed by Lee Sang-yeop, written by Song Jae-jung and Kim Kyung-ran, provided by Tving, produced by Studio Dragon, Mericow and Studio N), depicted Kim Yumi (played by Kim Go-eun) admitting that she likes a listless life.
That day the students asked Yumi's father, "When will writer Yumi's new work come out," and the father said, "A drama is being made from Yumi's book, right? I heard she has to attend the production presentation," relaying the busy daughter's recent situation.
Afterward, the father tried to call Yumi, and Yumi answered the phone, saying, "I'm on a plane right now. I'm going skydiving," and explained, "I came to cover it. It's about falling in love with the instructor while skydiving."
After experiencing skydiving herself, Yumi told her friend Lee Da (played by Miram), "I was moved, it was cool. But after that moment passed I just wanted to come down. It didn't really resonate with me. Like with travel."
Lee Da suggested a blind date, saying, "It's because you haven't dated for so long. A romance writer who doesn't date can't write. I'm telling you to date a bit."
Yumi confessed, "I'm annoyed. I don't know. Everything just feels dull," and admitted, "It's bland. No matter what I go through I feel no thrill. But my problem is that I like the blandness."
She continued, "Because there isn't much anger, excitement, trembling—joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure—I find it comfortable. It's burdensome now for emotions to swing like before," confessing and evoking sympathy.
Upon hearing this, Lee Da worried, "This is serious. Your body is in your 30s but your mind is in its 80s. Dried fish woman," and Yumi laughed and admitted it. In the narration of the cells, the reason for Yumi's confessed feelings was revealed.
Most of the inhabitants of Yumi's cell village had fallen into a very deep sleep. As Yumi refrained from dating for more than three years and stopped feeling joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure, each cell gradually grew drowsy and before long became that way.
In particular, with the disappearance of the love cell that had shown various activities so far, interest in Yumi's future romance intensified, and a new PD, Shin Sun-rok (played by Kim Jaewon), appeared and drew attention to Yumi.
