Announcer Kwak Min-seon, who married soccer player Song Min-gyu, is taking strong legal action against malicious posts.
On the 14th, her agency Starit Entertainment released an official statement saying, "Regarding announcer Kwak Min-seon, we are vigorously carrying out all possible legal measures against all illegal acts, including false information, threats, malicious posts and comments, defamation, personal insults and invasion of privacy that have been continuously spread online, on social media and across various communities."
The agency added, "We previously asked for restraint regarding the matter on our personal social media, but the same or similar acts have continued to be repeated, particularly on certain communities and platforms, and reports about them continue to be received," and explained, "The reproduction and wider distribution of unverified rumors is also clearly illegal."
Kwak Min-seon's side emphasized, "While maintaining our existing response stance, we will further strengthen all responses, including additional legal measures," and said, "In any case, we will take a tough stance with no leniency or settlements."
Earlier, Kwak Min-seon complained of damage from malicious comments and posts regarding the transfer involving her soccer player husband Song Min-gyu, and on the 12th she lamented, "Because there are people who feel uncomfortable seeing this, I stopped taking screenshots and was quietly proceeding with filing a complaint, but new direct messages keep coming so I'm very exhausted. Could you please stop?"
Kwak Min-seon is a former full-time announcer hired through regular recruitment at SPOTV Games and has mainly worked in the esports field. She married Song Min-gyu, who transferred to FC Seoul in December last year.
Below is the full official statement from Kwak Min-seon's side.
This is Starit Entertainment.
Regarding our artist announcer Kwak Min-seon, we are vigorously pursuing all possible legal measures against all illegal acts that have been continuously spread online, on social media and across various communities, including false information, threats, malicious posts and comments, defamation, personal insults and invasion of privacy.
We are continuously collecting and reviewing evidence based on our own monitoring system and reports from fans, and we are already undergoing legal procedures against multiple posts and authors. In this process, we are identifying authors, and acts that abuse anonymity will also be held accountable without exception.
We previously asked for restraint regarding the matter on our personal social media, but the same or similar acts have continued to be repeated, particularly on certain communities and platforms, and reports about them continue to be received. We make it clear that the reproduction and wider distribution of unverified rumors is also a clear illegal act.
Accordingly, while maintaining our existing response stance, we will further strengthen all responses, including additional legal measures. We will take a tough stance with no leniency or settlements in any case, and we will hold legally responsible all secondary harmful acts equally, including not only simple posts but also comments, sharing, reprocessing and distribution.
In addition, to protect the rights and interests of our artist, we will continue to regularly check the status of our responses and, if necessary, promptly take additional measures.
We place the protection of our artist's dignity, rights and honor as our top priority, and we will do our best to foster a healthy fan culture and provide a stable environment for the artist's activities.<
