Actor Kim Sung-kyun said he had presbyopia since middle school, drawing attention.
On the 13th, the SBS variety show 'Ani Geunde Jinjja' (abbreviated as 'Ageunjin') featured a new-concept talk show 'Bad Guys,' with Kim Sung-kyun and Yang Sang-guk appearing as guests and showing off their wit.
That day Kim Sung-kyun said he was born in 1980 when asked about his age. Hearing this, Lee Suji said, "She's the same age as Kim Tae-hee and Gang Dong-won. You worked hard," mentioning Kim Sung-kyun's presbyopic appearance.
In response, Lee Sang-min asked, "Is it true you looked like this since middle school?" and Kim Sung-kyun retorted, "That sounds a bit harsh," drawing laughs.
When Lee Suji opened by saying, "He said he was mistaken for a monk in middle school," Kim Sung-kyun added, "I used to go to the mountains with my mother from time to time. We went to Gatbawi and my school uniform was gray-toned. A passing man said, 'Monk, I absolutely cannot climb,'" which made people laugh.
Meanwhile, Kim Sung-kyun also revealed an anecdote that during a past audition he was cast because people thought he was a real gangster. Kim Sung-kyun said he took the audition for the film 'Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time' comfortably and later heard, "The distributor opposed it," which surprised people.
He explained, "An unfamiliar face (next to Ha Jung-woo) was an important role. Later I heard the film director played my audition tape and pushed, 'If not him, then who would do it?'" which attracted interest. <
