Singer Yoon Do-hyun said he plans to temporarily pause his ongoing activities with YB and take on a new challenge.
On the 13th, a video titled "Sung Si Kyung's I'll meet you l Yoon Do-hyun, it was so fun to talk about music after a long time!" was uploaded to Sung Si Kyung's YouTube channel.
That day, Sung Si Kyung asked guest Yoon Do-hyun, "Why suddenly 'I'll meet you'?" In response, Yoon Do-hyun said, "I'm preparing for an encore concert and also to promote it. On April 18 and 19, for two days, it will be at Blue Square. But the reason I want to promote this concert more is because I think I won't do concerts like this for a while," he declared a temporary pause in activities, drawing attention.
He said, "This is the first time I'm talking about it, but the 30th anniversary concert should reflect the 30 years that YB has walked. A concert that shows the usual YB image. But I've been thinking in my head for a long time that at the 30-year mark I would change. Instead, I planned to make the 30th anniversary a concert that all YB fans can remember, and after it ends I wanted to create some big change. So after this encore concert ends, I'll rest for a while and work on that," he declared.
He continued, "I've written a lot of songs, and many of them are going to be very bold. So actually the principle at the 30th anniversary was to release a best album, but I'm going to release a metal album. So I released this metal album at the 30th anniversary. And with this I plan to go to university festivals and tour. I always say that. 'With a future-oriented mindset I'm making music and I released an album at the 30th anniversary that presents our future. Because it's metal it may be hard to become widely known, but for me it has enormous meaning,' and I released it. Seeing this (the usual YB) image will be a kind of concert you won't see for a while," he said.
Sung Si Kyung noted the importance of the concert, saying, "For those who have loved or like YB music, this could be a chance you must not miss," and Yoon Do-hyun affirmed, "That's right. Concerts composed of songs like 'I Am a Butterfly' and 'Love TWO' will probably not happen for a while. For several years. It's a bold gamble."
Sung Si Kyung said, "That's a very scary threat," and Yoon Do-hyun replied, "I'm full of resolve. Sometimes I say on stage, 'You never know when you'll get to see us. You better enjoy seeing us now,' I threaten them. And because I had a cancer issue, I jokingly say, 'You never know when or how it will happen. From living I found that to be true,'" he joked. In fact, Yoon Do-hyun announced in 2023 that he had battled cancer. He was diagnosed in 2021 with gastric MALT lymphoma, a rare cancer, through a health checkup, and said he was declared fully recovered after treatment. In response, Sung Si Kyung asked, "Is your body all right?" about Yoon Do-hyun's health, and Yoon Do-hyun said, "I'm fine," indicating he had safely regained his health.<
