Comedian Lee Jin-ho, who collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage, has regained consciousness.
On the 14th, OSEN confirmed that Lee Jin-ho, who had recently been hospitalized in the intensive care unit, recently regained consciousness and was moved to a general ward. He has reportedly improved enough to recognize acquaintances.
Earlier, Lee Jin-ho suddenly collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage on the 1st and was transferred to the intensive care unit. This was revealed later, and on the 9th, his agency SM C&C said, "Lee Jin-ho was admitted to the hospital on April 1 in the afternoon after a sudden cerebral hemorrhage. He is currently regaining consciousness and is focusing on treatment."
The agency added, "Because the artist's health recovery is the top priority, we ask for warm support so he can devote himself to recovery," but remained silent on specific health details or future treatment plans.
Fortunately, Lee Jin-ho regained consciousness after nine days and was moved to a general ward. In particular, Super Junior alumnus Kangin played a large role in quickly getting him to the hospital and enabling his recovery.
On the 1st, Kangin called Lee Jin-ho, and as Lee Jin-ho was losing consciousness he barely answered and explained his condition to Kangin. Kangin quickly called 119, a paramedic arrived and transferred Lee Jin-ho to the hospital. In effect, Kangin saved Lee Jin-ho's life.
Meanwhile, Lee Jin-ho debuted as an SBS special recruit comedian in 2005 and received great love as "Woongi's father." He later appeared on numerous variety shows, but in 2024 he admitted to illegal gambling. As a result, Lee Jin-ho left all variety shows and went into self-reflection, but last September he was caught driving under the influence and was handed over to the prosecution.
In addition, due to financial hardship, he had been delinquent on health insurance premiums of about 28 million won since April 2023, and there were reports that because of this, Lee Jin-ho, who was hospitalized in the intensive care unit, was not receiving health insurance benefits.
