The Korean version of group ILLIT's 'Bubee' will be released today (the 13th) at 6 p.m.
'Bubee' is the opening theme song for the TV anime "Magical Sisters Rurutoriri," which is airing in Japan. It was first released locally on the 6th as ILLIT's original Japanese song, entered the top ranks of the Oricon "Daily Digital Single Ranking," and reached No. 1 on AWA Music's real-time rising chart, receiving a positive response.
The Korean version is also full of ILLIT's lovable charm. The song is a dance-pop track based on J-pop with added Shibuya-kei subculture sensibilities, and ILLIT's distinctive bright and refreshing vocals stand out over the sweet melody. True to a title derived from "Buddy," meaning colleague or friend, the lyrics carry the message "If you're with the one you love, you can do anything."
ILLIT said through its agency Belift Lab Inc., "We are happy to be able to present the fresh charm of 'Bubee' in a Korean version," adding, "While recording, we tried to preserve the original's bouncy atmosphere. If you focus on the cute lyrics while listening, you might feel like a 'magical girl.'"
Along with the track, the dance challenge is also attracting attention on global short-form platforms. Choreography that fits 'Bubee's' theme—such as two people exchanging glances and making a heart—has become popular because friends, couples and families can enjoy it together. The challenge was produced by well-known Japanese choreographer Makida Sako (田紗子), who has led challenge trends by choreographing dances for popular local idol groups such as M!LK and CUTIE STREET.
Meanwhile, ILLIT will comeback with mini album 4 "MAMIHLAPINATAI" (MAMIHLAPINATAPAI). Having raised fans' expectations by sequentially releasing concept photos, they will release the "FREE RIDER" version concept photo on the 14th and the mini album 4 highlight medley on the 21st. On the 23rd–24th, they will ramp up the comeback atmosphere with a campaign film containing hints about the title track "It's Me" and the "IT'S ME" version concept photos. On the 27th–28th, official teasers 1 and 2 for the title track's music video will be released consecutively, and at 6 p.m. on the 30th the highly anticipated new release and the full music video will be unveiled.
