Actor Park Joong-hoon honestly shared his feelings on turning 60 and talked about his family.
On the Dec. 12 broadcast of SBS My Little Old Boy, Park Joong-hoon appeared as a special guest and showcased his wit.
That day Park Joong-hoon revealed behind-the-scenes of his 60th birthday party. He said, "I told everyone not to bring gifts or a cake, but everyone brought them," and "there was even someone who gave one don of gold as a gift," which drew laughter. He added, "Once I actually received them, I liked it," showing a cheerful reaction.
He also revealed anecdotes with his children. Park Joong-hoon said, "I received stacks of cash from my children to commemorate my 60th," and "when I pulled it like bursting a bag of beans, money came out and I felt good," which attracted attention.
The current status of his three children also drew attention. The eldest is working as an AI education consultant, the second is an IT designer, and the third is known to have graduated from the University of California (UC) in the United States.
On his approach to educating his children, he emphasized autonomy, saying, "I tend to let the children do what they want." He said, "Parents stopping them does not work. They have to experience things themselves to know," stating his conviction. He added, "Even if you don't like the person your daughter brings home, it is ultimately her choice," and "learning through experience is important."
Meanwhile, Park Joong-hoon is also known for memorizing all the staff names on set. He said, "The most basic thing in human relations is calling someone by their name," and noted he was influenced by fellow actor Chow Yun-fat. It was reported that he actually memorizes the names of hundreds of staff members in a short time, which amazed people. Along with this, a lively back-and-forth with host Shin Dong-yeob continued, adding laughter to the broadcast.<
