Actor Joo Jin-mo is maintaining "prime on the course" despite a seven-year hiatus. Along with recent news that he won tens of millions of won in prize money from hole-in-ones, affectionate remarks toward his wife have added to the buzz.
On the 12th, the YouTube channel Hong In-gyu Golf TV released a video titled "the first hole-in-one in history." That day Joo Jin-mo was shown competing at a golf course in Zhangjiajie, China, with acquaintances from the entertainment industry.
The highlight was that an iron shot Joo Jin-mo hit was sucked straight into the hole. It was a "hole-in-one." It was a miraculous scene that ended the game with a single shot. Joo Jin-mo was also visibly surprised.
MC Hong In-gyu could not hide his excitement, saying, "Does it make sense to make a hole-in-one twice in front of the camera?" In fact, Joo Jin-mo set a rare record by recording his second hole-in-one on a golf broadcast within about a year. With this hole-in-one he won 50 million won in prize money, and earlier on another channel he received a watch worth about 27 million won for a hole-in-one. That means he hit a "jackpot" worth a total of about 77 million won from hole-in-ones alone.
What drew the most attention was a remark toward his wife. Joo Jin-mo said, "I told my wife yesterday that I was going to get another hole-in-one, and it actually happened," and immediately shared the news, saying, "Honey, you may not believe it, but I did it again," showing his side as a devoted husband.
He has shown a special devotion to his wife in everyday life as well. In a recent video on the YouTube channel "Doctor Hye-yeon," Joo Jin-mo, after a health checkup during a meal, drew attention by confessing, "The only person I can rely on is my wife," and "I rely on her absolutely. She is more than a mother." In response, his wife Min Hye-yeon said, "I have no intention of becoming oppa's mother," and teased back, "Why do you keep treating me like a mother?", which provoked laughter.
The two maintained a bickering yet affectionate atmosphere. When Min Hye-yeon asked, "When will you become cool?", Joo Jin-mo joked, "Don't you become cool only when you're cast?", honestly revealing his realistic concerns. Even though Joo Jin-mo is currently in a hiatus from acting projects, he is asserting his presence on the course by winning substantial prize money.
