Kim Sang-hyuk, formerly of the group Click-B, deleted content related to his ex-wife's attack over their divorce. The video that had already been released was also deleted, and mentions of the divorce were completely edited out.
Earlier, on the 7th, broadcaster Jang Seongkyu's YouTube channel 'Manri Jang Seongkyu' released a preview video for '1st-generation idol status Olympics.' Jang Seongkyu invited Kim Sang-hyuk, a childhood classmate from elementary school, to join him in producing content.
In the process, Kim Sang-hyuk personally mentioned the drunk driving incident that led to his long period of self-reflection and suspension of activities. He asked whether it was appropriate for him, who had been involved in a drunk driving controversy, to appear on the segment "conscience refrigerator," and said it was a "repentant heart."
And what drew the most attention in the short preview was one remark by Jang Seongkyu in which Kim Sang-hyuk's ex-wife was mentioned. While asking Kim Sang-hyuk about his recent life, Jang Seongkyu said, "I even had a meal with my former sister-in-law."
Kim Sang-hyuk married Song Da-ye, a former shopping mall CEO, in 2019 after two years of dating, but they divorced in 2020, 1 year and 4 months later. At the time, Kim Sang-hyuk's agency said, "They were unable to overcome differences in views with the spouse, and after careful consideration, they proceeded with mediation procedures for divorce."
Kim Sang-hyuk also directly expressed his feelings, saying, "Two inadequate people met and tried hard to live well. We should have lived supporting each other's wounds, and I am sorry we could not show a happy appearance. It seems everything is my fault. I am truly sorry and it is difficult to share this kind of news."
Later, Song Da-ye clarified that they were in a de facto marital relationship without registering their marriage, so they were not legally a married couple. However, as mentions of the divorce appeared and were reported in several broadcasts in which Kim Sang-hyuk appeared, Song Da-ye expressed discomfort and even posted attacks against Kim Sang-hyuk on social media.
The calm lasted only briefly. Jang Seongkyu met with Kim Sang-hyuk and again mentioned his ex-wife, and when it was reported, Song Da-ye once again expressed discomfort. She said on her channel, "My ex-husband is a celebrity. My ex-husband talks about the divorce every time he appears on broadcast, causing unwanted articles, and I have experienced this situation once every few years," and added, "Even if he did not mention it directly, isn't it possible to request editing if the other party feels uncomfortable? At first I tolerated it, but as such incidents repeated, it became impossible to endure any longer."
After Song Da-ye directly expressed her displeasure with Jang Seongkyu's channel, the video was deleted and set to private. In the main episode released on the 10th, the content about Kim Sang-hyuk's ex-wife that had been mentioned in the preview was deleted.
