Comedian Hong Hyun-hee mentioned menopause on "Pinggego."
On the morning of the 11th, the web variety show Pinggego, released on the YouTube channel "DdeunDdeun," was staged as a "peak is Pinggego" special. Leading with relay host Yu Jae-seok were last year's Pinggego awards grand prize winner Jee Seokjin, and comedians Heo Kyunghwan and Hong Hyun-hee, who have recently been called the latest stars.
That day Hong Hyun-hee, when complimented recently for becoming prettier, deliberately made a loud sniffing sound and made a ruined face that drew laughter. In response Heo Kyunghwan asked, "Isn't Junbeom (Hong Hyun-hee's son) like, 'Mom wears something this pretty and does a '슈룹' with her nose'?" In reality Hong Hyun-hee married interior designer and television personality Jasson and had a son, Junbeom, building a family. Wearing a stunned expression, she snapped, "Don't touch the kid," and in a huff hit Heo Kyunghwan's face with a red fan, drawing laughter.
At Hong Hyun-hee's past SBS comedy show "Laugh Finders" era popular corner "The Red," the fan skit was symbolic, and Heo Kyunghwan reacted as if startled and perfectly in sync. Still, he explained, "What did I touch? I was just saying Junbeom was pretty," and asked, "Isn't Junbeom starting elementary school this time?" asking about recent news.
Hong Hyun-hee said in disbelief, "He's only five years old, what elementary school?" Even Jee Seokjin chimed in to Heo Kyunghwan, "Why do you make mistakes like that?" In response Heo Kyunghwan said, "Junbeom was having some kind of graduation ceremony and Hyun-hee cried so much. So I thought he was entering elementary school."
It turned out that Hong Hyun-hee's son Junbeom recently graduated from daycare and had a graduation ceremony, and a video was released showing Hong Hyun-hee sobbing, which led Heo Kyunghwan to be confused. Hong Hyun-hee said, "Junbeom attended the same daycare for two years and graduated. When he thanked the teacher I just started crying so much."
When Heo Kyunghwan belatedly agreed and added, "She kept crying so I thought she was entering elementary school," Hong Hyun-hee once again tossed the fan at Heo Kyunghwan and said, "It's menopause," and, "That period is overlapping," prompting loud laughter around them.
Except for unmarried Heo Kyunghwan, both Yu Jae-seok and Jee Seokjin are married and have children. Yu Jae-seok also sympathized with Hong Hyun-hee's tears, saying, "But from a parent's perspective, even if children only graduate from kindergarten, you still cry."
Jee Seokjin said, "I still remember when my child first said something other than 'mom' and 'dad.' When I put shoes on him at age 2, my son, who used to always say 'um-mam-ma a-bbab-bba,' lifted his foot and said, 'this way, too.' My wife and I locked eyes at that moment; it was more than 20 years ago but it's still vivid," and clicked his tongue. Hong Hyun-hee, moved, said once more, "Oh my," and deeply empathized with a tender expression, adding both laughter and a lump-in-the-throat feeling.
