Former top Japanese idol-turned-actress Kawaei Rina and actor Hirose Tomoki have divorced.
Kawaei Rina and Hirose Tomoki each announced their divorce on their respective social media and blogs on the 10th.
First, Kawaei Rina said, "I am sorry to everyone who supports me that this is a personal matter, but we have ended our relationship as a married couple and decided to walk our own lives," adding, "I will continue to work harder both as an actress and as a mother. I would be grateful if you watch over me warmly. I ask for your understanding."
Also, Hirose Tomoki directly announced his divorce from Kawaei Rina, saying, "I am grateful that until now we were able to live together and build a family with the i-dle. My respect for the other person has not changed."
Kawaei Rina is an actress who formerly belonged to the popular Japanese girl group AKB48. After leaving the group and turning to acting, she appeared in the films "The Liar and His Lover," "Summer Ghost," "The House Where the Mermaid Sleeps," "Police in a Pod: Tokyo Reboot," and "The Strange House," among others. Recently, she also came to Korea for the musical "Spirited Away" and met Korean audiences at the Seoul Arts Center.
Hirose Tomoki is a skilled actor who developed mainly on the theater stage. He and Kawaei Rina appeared together in the 2018 play "Karepon," which led to a romantic relationship, and they married in May 2019. They had their first child in November of the same year and a second child in 2023, giving birth to two children. However, their marriage ultimately ended in divorce after seven years, causing shock.
