Medical reporter and broadcaster Hong Hye-geol revealed the close friendship between his wife, Yeo Esther, and their close friend Ham Ik-byung.
On the 10th, a video titled "Hong Hye-geol's Jeju vlog, who enjoys herself alone (feat. the two faces of Yeo Esther we didn't know?! )" was posted on Yeo Esther's personal YouTube channel "Esther TV."
The released video showed Yeo Esther's husband, Hong Hye-geol, meeting in Jeju with close friend Dr. Ham Ik-byung and their respective younger cousins to enjoy a golf match and a meal. Among them, Ham Ik-byung said, "Dr. Hong introduced Esther to me," revealing that even Yeo Esther was close with the family.
Hong Hye-geol said, "When I was a reporter and the teacher was working at the hospital, he wrote a book but I didn't write an article. Yet the book written by the doctor was a very well-made book. Still, strangely, I felt a resistance," revealing his first connection with Ham Ik-byung. He continued, "But you never know about people's affairs: suddenly my wife's older sister's husband, who is like an elder to me, asked to request a lecture from Dr. Ham and asked me to introduce him. So, apologetically, I contacted Dr. Ham, and thankfully he didn't get offended and came out," he explained.
Afterwards, even Yeo Esther became close with the family. Hong Hye-geol jokingly said, "My wife marveled that even though she wasn't attractive then, the handsome Dr. Ham liked her and helped her." Ham Ik-byung laughed and said, "That's not it. Esther is smart; when she came to our house back then, things that weren't in her home were in ours. First, she ate a lot, exercised and went out to have fun. Her children are two sons, and looking only at a father's intellectual and contemplative side can be boring, right? In our house we went hiking and water skiing, so I took them around to learn things they couldn't learn from their biological father from the neighbor man."
Hong Hye-geol went on, "We still have a bond with Dr. Ham's family. Honestly, he feels like a big older brother to me," and joked, "I think my wife and Dr. Ham had good feelings for each other," prompting bursts of laughter. Ham Ik-byung drew the line, saying, "Their personalities are similar," and laughed. <
