This is a review article written after watching the broadcast.
The six members of "Gugidong Friends" all gathered.
In the first episode of tvN variety show "Gugidong Friends," which aired on the 10th, same-age singles living together as "dongsachin" (friends who live together) — Jang Do-youn, Lee Da-hee, Choi Daniel, Jang Geun-seok, Ahn Jae-hyeon and Kyung Soo-jin — begin living together in the "Gugidong House."
The person who arrived first at the Gugidong House that day was actor Jang Geun-seok. Jang Geun-seok, who has lived alone for 14 years, explained his reason for applying to move in during a pre-move-in interview.
He said, "I still want to play more. There are so many things I want to do and so many dreams I have. But even close friends got married, had children and started families, and at some point I found myself alone."
Then he said, "Doing the things I want to do alone doesn't seem to have much meaning. I hoped there would be someone to share that time with."
Jang Do-youn lamented, "I recently caught a cold and there was no one to say, 'I'm sick right now.' Even if it's just one person asking, 'What are you doing?' it would be enough, but there's a difference between no one knowing and even one person knowing. I hate being alone when I'm sick."
After that she explained her reason for applying to move in, saying, "If I continue living the way I have, I think I'll be alone. I wondered if I could live a different way. So this move-in is a 'challenge' for me."
Choi Daniel, who said he has lived alone for about 20 years, said, "I came thinking of something like the sitcom 'Three Men, Three Women.' Who knows what might happen with three men and three women coming together," showing a subtle expectation about dating.
After greeting Jang Geun-seok and Jang Do-youn, who had arrived earlier, Choi Daniel said, "I was hoping for a vibe like 'Heart Signal.' I like dating shows. I watched every season of 'Heart Signal.'"
The fourth move-in was actress Lee Da-hee. She explained her reason for applying to move in, saying, "Marriage isn't the only answer, but I was afraid I might not be able to live alone after my parents are gone. I wondered if there could be a new form of family."
Kyung Soo-jin said, "I've long since forgotten my age, but I'm 39. I am thinking about marriage. I want children. But there is no partner," and worried, "I've lived alone for 14 years, so I wonder if I can live in sync with someone," yet completed moving into the Gugidong House.
The final move-in was Ahn Jae-hyeon. Ahn Jae-hyeon, a divorced single who has lived alone for seven years, explained his reason for applying to move in, saying, "As I get older, my world of daily life and relationships seems to narrow, so I wanted to broaden the world I can move in."
Meanwhile, outside the Gugidong House, Choi Daniel, who met them by chance, carried each other's luggage with Ahn Jae-hyeon and Kyung Soo-jin who had come in together, and asked, "Why are you two entering together? Did you come from home together?" showing a dating-show addict side and provoking laughter.
