The oldest veteran actress Kim Yeong-ok revealed a heartbreaking story that she suffered a past burglary at her home and incurred a large loss of property.
Kim Yeong-ok recently posted a video on her YouTube channel showing the appraisal of the jewelry, watches and silver spoons she owned.
The total appraised value of the jewelry revealed that day amounted to about 24 million to 25 million won, the silver spoons and cutlery set were about 3.49 million won, the necklace and bracelet purchased 30 years ago were about 6.91 million won, pearl earrings were 1.3 million won, and a gold brooch was appraised at 3.14 million won, drawing attention. In particular, a gold watch that had been purchased in the past for 12 million won was recognized to have a value of about 9.79 million won.
During the appraisal process, Kim Yeong-ok recalled a past theft and began by confessing, "I once had gold stolen." Kim Yeong-ok said, "I went out on Christmas Eve and when I returned my son called saying, 'There was a thief in the house,'" recalling the terrifying moment and said, "It was an apartment so I wondered what kind of thief it could be, but it seemed they opened the door through the milk slot," recalling the unimaginably brazen method she had been victim to.
Kim Yeong-ok said, "At the time a 2-carat diamond was worth more than 20 million won, and the ring I had painstakingly prepared happened to be taken because I had taken it off that day," and "They ransacked the entire house and stripped it of jewelry," she said. She went on to say, "I felt like a house was gone," revealing the considerable scale of the loss at the time and causing even viewers to feel sorrow.
