Comedian Kwak Beom revealed financial hardships during his rookie days.
On the 9th, a video titled 'A day hosting a successful junior [I'll give you a meal~Street with Kwak Beom]' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Junho Jimin'.
That day, Kwak Beom was asked if there were any comments that remained in his memory. Kwak Beom opened up, saying, "In 2020, the per-episode pay for 'Gag Concert' was 570,000 won."
Kwak Beom explained, "If it's edited in, half of the appearance fee comes in. Then it becomes about 320,000 won," and "If it gets edited in twice, it was about 1.8 million won a month."
When Kwak Beom said, "I had to go to work all week, so I couldn't do other jobs," Kim Ji-min chimed in, "Even if you appeared in three corners, the appearance fee was frozen."
Later Kwak Beom confessed, "When I mentioned the appearance fee, a comment said, 'You're not worrying about celebrities. They earn well.' Other comments didn't sting, but since my family had four members, that comment resonated more."
He continued, "When we lived in Hwagok-dong, our second child was a baby, and when I swiped a debit card at a restaurant, the payment didn't go through," recalling, "The staff said there was no balance so I casually paid with a credit card, but my wife worried a lot."
