HYBE Latin America's boy group Santos Bravos (SANTOS BRAVOS) said "they were greatly inspired by BTS and Cortis, among others."
Santos Bravos (Drew, Alejandro, Kauê, Gabee, Kenes) held a media day at 4 p.m. on the 10th at HYBE's building in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and expressed their impressions and expectations about visiting Korea for the first time.
Santos Bravos, selected through a reality program, received K-pop–style training under HYBE's "Multi-home, Multi-genre" strategy led by chairman Bang Si-hyuk and debuted in Mexico in October last year.
Gabee said, "This is the first Latin pop group to come out of HYBE. In that sense, I think we carry a lot of weight. Our goal is not only to be known in Latin America but to become a group known worldwide."
The Santos Bravos members visiting Korea for the first time emphasized learning and growth. Gabee said, "I think the Korean market is important because it is where HYBE started," and added, "We practiced very hard with the goal of coming to this place. I think we will appear on many music shows while in Korea. There are various things planned. I want to say that we have worked really hard to come to Korea until now."
Drew also said, "I came to Korea for the first time with a lot of expectations and I am very happy. I came with the desire to learn a lot. I am ready to learn from many seniors. I think it would be good to spend time filming challenge videos with senior artists and having that kind of time."
He added, "Cortis, BTS, LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT seniors really inspired us a lot. Thanks to them pioneering the path of the K-pop world, I think we were able to grow a lot, and we are grateful for that," and said, "I am glad that we will be able to learn about Korea, and I hope you will think of us as coming here with a student's mindset to learn a lot."
Santos Bravos released their first EP last month, "DUAL," and are currently promoting it. Kauê introduced "Dual," saying, "You can see how many diverse colors it has. Some songs are really emotional, and some songs showcase our vocal abilities. It's colorful music where you can feel our various aspects and different emotions, so it is very special to us."
Santos Bravos plans to engage in various activities, including appearances on Korean music programs.
