Singer Seo In Young revealed that she was unable to witness her birth mother's deathbed.
Seo In Young's video titled 'First reveal of the stepmother who raised Seo In Young for 30 years (+biological dad who is a tiger)' was posted on her YouTube channel 'Gaegwacheonseon Seo In Young' on the 9th.
Seo In Young said, "I cared for my sick birth mother. She died of a stroke before turning 60. She wasn't healthy and she hid it. She disliked going to the hospital. Later, when I checked her bag, I found records of hospital visits."
She continued, "Her mind was present but she couldn't open her eyes. We even missed the golden time and my sibling ran there first. When I told my mother, 'Mom, I will protect you,' she shed tears, I was told. She stayed in the hospital for about 10 days," and explained, "Because of COVID-19, we couldn't see her, so we were allowed in only right before she passed. They tell you to wait and then go in if it looks like she's going to die. You put on all the protective gear."
But she said she could not be there at the deathbed. Seo In Young said, "I was late then. I didn't see her die. I was 30 minutes late because when I came from Seoul the hospital was in the Namyangju area," she said.
She added, "I was basically on standby then. During those 10 days my mother hardly slept at all because if an emergency call came we had to run immediately," she said.
Also, "At one point they said she was going to die, so when I went in I read a letter to my mother. My sibling said I would take good care of her, apologized for what they hadn't been able to do for her until now, and said that in the next life they hope our mother is born as a daughter," which drew sympathy.
Seo In Young expressed regret, saying, "At that time she was always taking medication and nearly aphasic. She couldn't speak at all, showing only a struggling appearance. I feel so sorry that she left like that."
