TV CHOSUN 'Doctor Shin' Jung I-chan lifts Joo Se bin effortlessly in a "princess carry," foreshadowing a dramatic shift in their conflicted relationship.
TV CHOSUN weekend miniseries "Doctor Shin" (written by Phoebe (Im Seong-han), directed by Lee Seung-hoon) is a medical thriller about a genius doctor who challenges the realm of the divine and a woman whose brain is suddenly damaged and who is losing her soul. "Doctor Shin," which is reaching the peak of its shocking narrative with two "brain change surgeries," has proven steady topical interest by sweeping the top eight in the TV-drama category announced by FUNdex, the official platform of K-content competitiveness analysis organization Good Data Corporation.
In the eighth episode, when Shin Ju-shin (played by Jung I-chan) kept recalling the subtle feeling he felt the moment he back-hugged Geum Ba-ra (played by Joo Se bin), he called Geum Ba-ra and arranged a meeting. While hearing the story of the smart and confident Geum Ba-ra, Shin Ju-shin recalled the past Momo (played by Baek Seora) and subtly suggested a brain change with Momo, but Geum Ba-ra rejected it outright, creating tension.
In the ninth episode, which will air on Sat., the 11th at 10:30 p.m., Jung I-chan and Joo Se bin show a "rapid-advance, confusion-inducing two-shot" in which the forbidden line between them collapses. In the drama, Shin Ju-shin lifts the anguished Geum Ba-ra in a princess carry and carefully lays her down on the bed. Geum Ba-ra cannot even open her eyes and complains of extreme pain, and Shin Ju-shin looks down at the lying Geum Ba-ra with a worried expression. The "princess carry" scene, in which the usually cold and emotionless Shin Ju-shin reveals special feelings for Geum Ba-ra and raises questions about what incident may have occurred to the two and acts as a catalyst for their rapidly changing relationship, heightens curiosity.
Meanwhile, Jung I-chan and Joo Se bin portrayed an emotional change 180 degrees different from before through the "rapid-advance, confusion-inducing two-shot" with detailed acting. Jung I-chan convinced viewers of the "feeling that arose toward Geum Ba-ra" by expressing Shin Ju-shin's subtle emotional changes not only in his eyes but also in a different breathing intensity than usual. Joo Se bin naturally embodied Geum Ba-ra, who, despite being disheveled by pain, does not lose her manners toward Shin Ju-shin, maximizing the scene's immersion.
