On Thursday the 9th, MBC's Save Me! Homes (directed by Jung Da-hee, Nam You Joung, Heo Ja-yoon, Kim Seong-nyeon; hereafter Homes) will head out to Seoul's "sdeume road" for its wedding season field scouting.
This episode features KARA Heo Young-ji, a close friend from the entertainment industry's 대표 친목 모임 "94s," Lovelyz Lee Mi-joo, and Yang Se-chan, who is "clueless about weddings," joining the scouting. They will meet wedding industry professionals in person, from wedding halls to dresses and makeup, to experience the vivid atmosphere of the wedding business district, and furthermore look into their living spaces and lifestyles to offer a more multidimensional look at "modern" wedding culture.
The three also visit the home of a wedding master of ceremonies who runs an agency. Living in a "ceremony-site zone" just three minutes from affiliated wedding halls, he touts his immediate dispatch capability as a strength and reveals behind-the-scenes stories of sealing affiliation contracts. With the rise of ceremonies without officiants increasing the MC's presence, they recount a dizzying emergency situation encountered on site and how it was deftly handled. Added to this are unusual ceremony event episodes such as lucky draws and solo guest matching, which further heighten the atmosphere at the scene.
Afterward, they head to Seongsu, the mecca of self-shooting that has been attracting attention among modern couples who favor "reliable charm" over "traditionalism." In this place known as "Hip-su," they meet director Riu, who appeared as "Seongsu-dong prince" on the makeup survival show Just Makeup and drew attention, and hear firsthand about the atmosphere and flow of Seongsu-dong's wedding district, different from Cheongdam-dong. They then move to a nearby restaurant for a natural mukbang-style talk and share real stories about current makeup trends for parents of the bride and groom. In particular, Heo Young-ji recalls the wedding preparation process of her older sister, Heo Song-yeon, who recently married singer Jukjae, sharing vivid afterstories that add empathy.
Finally, they scout a space hosting the increasingly noted wedding trend of house weddings. Located in a quiet detached house alley in Yeonhui-dong, they inspect a house wedding venue created by remodeling a dwelling and highlight the unique charm of a wedding different from conventional wedding halls. Additionally, recommended listings that can be used as house wedding venues will be revealed, raising expectations.
