'The Return of SUPERMAN' actor Shim Hyungtak summoned great courage for his son Haru.
On the 8th episode of KBS2TV entertainment show 'The Return of SUPERMAN' (hereinafter 'The Return of SUPERMAN'), Shim Hyungtak and Haru's affectionate day and Lee Yong-sik's solo twilight parenting for a day were featured.
Comedian Lee Yong-sik's daughter Lee Soo-min, who revealed her marriage to singer Won-hyuk on another broadcast in 2024, has now been a year since she gave birth to her daughter Lee El. And grandfather Lee Yong-sik, who loves Lee El dearly, appeared changed after two years.
First, Lee Yong-sik exercised hard from the morning in front of his son-in-law Won-hyuk. Lee Yong-sik was someone who used to loathe exercise, but he said he works out solely to stay healthy so he can live with Lee El and definitely see her walk into the wedding hall. His daughter Lee Soo-min was moved by this. Meanwhile, Shim Hyungtak was moved as he experienced his son Haru growing every day. First, Haru, who stood on his own two feet, showed Shim Hyungtak that he was toddling toward his father. Shim Hyungtak was so surprised that he just smiled.
Shim Hyungtak said, "Seeing the child do it on his own made me really proud as a father," expressing satisfaction. For his son Haru's nutrition, he said, "Our Haru eats cheese, eats egg yolk, so I tried making an egg bread," as he hollowed out a morning bun, put in cheese and egg yolk, and cooked a simple homemade egg bread for Haru.
Haru firmly grabbed the bread, checked the texture, used his fingers to tear the bread and ate it himself. He occasionally fed his father too. Shim Hyungtak said, "He chews, listens, dad gives him, tastes, enjoys, he really does it all. I'll have to think about bread dishes in the future," showing his delight.
Haru also took an interest in animals, often imitating animal sounds. Although Shim Hyungtak has ornithophobia, he faced the courage to visit an indoor zoo for Haru and touch birds directly, from small birds to cockatiels.
Shim Hyungtak said, "I was very scared of the birds, but I endured it because I thought I couldn't say I'm scared as a dad," and "If dad does well, the son can observe and learn well," and "These are things I couldn't do, but I hope Haru grows up experiencing them," conveying his affection for his son Haru.
Shim Hyungtak also shared scorched rice chicken with the more grown Haru, rejoicing to see that Haru is now big enough to eat chicken together rather than just baby food.
