Actor Park Sung-woong appeared as a witness at the trial over perjury charges against Lim Seong-geun, former commander of the Marine Corps' 1st Division, drawing attention, and he is expected to continue a busy schedule with his acting.
Park Sung-woong appeared as a witness at the trial on charges of violating the Act on Testimony, Appraisal and Others at the National Assembly (perjury) for Lim Seong-geun, which was held on the 8th at the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 22 (presiding Judge Jo Hyeong-woo).
Earlier, former Black Pearl Invest representative Lee Jong-ho was mentioned as the person who managed the account of Kim Keon-hee in the Deutsch Motors stock manipulation case. He is suspected of having asked for a favor for Lim Seong-geun during the administration of former President Yoon Suk-yeol. However, Lim Seong-geun denied at the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee in October last year that he had ever met former representative Lee Jong-ho.
In response, Park Sung-woong testified as a witness who saw the friendship between former representative Lee Jong-ho and Lim Seong-geun because of his connection with Lee Jong-ho. Park Sung-woong said he got to know former representative Lee Jong-ho through the introduction of a close junior and revealed that Lee Jong-ho actually attended his father's 80th birthday party. In particular, it was reported that he testified that while he was at a bar in a certain area of Gangnam with former representative Lee Jong-ho in the past, "there were people coming and going whom the former representative treated like a younger brother or friend," and "I remember the two of them embracing, saying 'our general, our division commander, the Marine Corps.'"
This testimony contradicts the perjury claim against Lim Seong-geun. Support has continued, saying that Park Sung-woong spoke out according to his convictions despite the burden of a social issue.
Meanwhile, Park Sung-woong's busy schedule is also attracting attention. First, he meets viewers every Thursday night on KBS 2TV drama Simwoomyeon Yeonriri. In Simwoomyeon Yeonriri, Park Sung-woong plays Seong Tae-hoon, a realistic, relatable family man. Through Seong Tae-hoon, who suddenly moved from a large corporation to the countryside overnight, Park Sung-woong sheds his usual intense characters to show a more human charm and everyday acting.
In addition, he will appear in the KBS 2TV highly anticipated historical epic Munmu. Munmu is a historical drama that highlights the great victory in which the small state of Silla defeated Goguryeo and Baekje and even repelled the Tang dynasty, completing the unification of the Three Kingdoms, and it is a large-scale historical drama that KBS is producing with full commitment. Park Sung-woong plays Kim Yu-sin, the leading figure in Silla's unification of the Three Kingdoms. Curiosity is piqued about how Park Sung-woong's distinctive intense charisma will shine in a large-scale historical drama.
Additionally, Park Sung-woong is scheduled to appear in the films Okay Madam 2 and Land. Personally receiving public support, Park Sung-woong is drawing attention as he pursues a busy schedule across contemporary and historical works. Observers are watching the actor Park Sung-woong's next moves closely.<
