Singer VV adds meaning as the first OST of Perfect Crown.
On the 9th, Kakao Entertainment said it will release VV's "My Face" as the first OST for MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama Perfect Crown on the 10th.
Perfect Crown is a drama set in 21st-century constitutional monarchy Korea that depicts a status-breaking romance in which a chaebol who has everything but is merely a commoner and thus annoying, and a prince who is the king's son but cannot have anything and is a sad man, carve out their destinies. Singer and actress IU plays Seong Hee-ju, a chaebol who is a commoner, as the title role. Also, the trending actor Byeon Woo-seok takes on the male lead as Lee An daegun, the king's son who cannot have anything, drawing anticipation.
Among them, the first OST that will amplify the work's charm, "My Face," highlights Seong Hee-ju's charm and was presented at the press event. VV's "My Face" contains the character traits and message of Seong Hee-ju, who will not be bound by others' standards, status, or fate and will pioneer life only in her own way.
According to Kakao Entertainment, "My Face" starts calmly, whispered in VV's uniquely languid tone, and expands into an increasingly explosive vocal toward the end, leaving a strong impression. In addition, an intense guitar riff that pushes forward relentlessly and sharply penetrating synthesizer sounds blend with an addictive chorus to enhance the song's completeness. The contrast between vocals that meticulously build emotional texture and the intense sound is expected to maximize immersion in the work.
VV has been praised as the owner of an irreplaceable tone with numerous songs, including the hit "Bamyanggaeng." Her uniquely husky yet emotionally delicate tone is expected to complete the narrative of Perfect Crown even more deeply.
In addition, OST performers for Perfect Crown include popular idol groups RIIZE, BOYNEXTDOOR, and KiiiKiii. Singers Wooz, HANRORO and other trending artists are also participating, raising expectations.
