Comedian Lee Jin-ho collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage and is receiving treatment in a hospital.
On the 9th, Lee Jin-ho's agency SM C&C told OSEN, "Lee Jin-ho was hospitalized on the afternoon of April 1 after a sudden cerebral hemorrhage, and he is currently regaining consciousness and focusing on treatment."
They added, "The artist's recovery is the top priority, so we ask for warm support so he can devote himself to recovery."
However, they remained cautious and did not provide additional details about his specific health condition or future treatment plans.
Lee Jin-ho debuted in 2005 as an SBS specially recruited comedian and won public affection with the "Woong-i's father" character, and he was active on various programs such as tvN's "Comedy Big League."
However, recently he had halted activities and entered a period of self-reflection after a series of controversies. Earlier, Lee Jin-ho admitted to illegal gambling in 2024 and mentioned debts of hundreds of millions of won, and it caused an uproar when it was revealed he had borrowed money from fellow entertainers and others.
Later that year in September, he was caught driving about 100 km while heavily intoxicated and was sent to prosecutors on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act. At the time, his blood alcohol concentration was confirmed to be at the level for license revocation.
Also, it was revealed that from April 2023 he had fallen behind on health insurance premiums of about 28 million won, and his name was mentioned.
