On Radio Star, Um Ki-joon revealed a story about receiving a protest from the makers of "Dooly the Little Dinosaur."
On the 8th episode of MBC variety show Radio Star (hereinafter Ras), in the special "The King's Warden and the man who lives with him," actors Kim Sooro, Um Ki-joon, Park Geon-hyung and Kim Hyung-mook appeared and shared various stories.
Um Ki-joon, who solidified his status as the nation's villain playing Joo Dan-tae in The Penthouse, drew attention by revealing that he was scolded by Dooly the Little Dinosaur after the broadcast.
Um Ki-joon recalled, "It's the scene where we look for the hidden Yoo-jin. I chased Yoo-jin from behind with a knife. The director said that it would be boring if I just walked, so he asked if I would sing 'kokkok sugeora'"
He continued, "I thought it would be boring, so I decided to sing a different song. When the camera rolled I sang the 'Dooly song' and he said it was good," explaining how he came to sing the Dooly song.
However, he said protests came in shortly after the broadcast. Um Ki-joon recounted, "I said 'ooak' and went out, but since Dooly is a children's cartoon, I heard there were protest calls saying, 'How could you destroy a child's innocence?' Since it had already been broadcast there was nothing we could do," he said, sharing the behind-the-scenes story.
