The TVING original Becoming a legendary cook, which will premiere domestically and globally on Monday, May 11 (written by Choi Ryong, directed by Jo Nam-hyung, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Studio Dragon and Studio N, provided by TVING), released a teaser video titled Gang Seong-jae transfer report, announcing the birth of a hero who will be reborn from a private first class into a legendary cook.
The released video begins with the awkward figure of Republic of Korea Army private Gang Seong-jae (played by Park Jihoon) heading to his assigned unit after completing trainee life. Instead of imagining burning himself out as a member of the Republic of Korea Army, the reality is that his seniors look at him with distrustful glances.
Before he even adapts to his assigned unit, Gang Seong-jae, who suddenly becomes a cook because of the simple line "I can cook ramen!", is immediately enveloped by a mysterious energy as soon as he enters the food storage. As if the god of cooking possessed him, he completes appetizing dishes with fine-dining-level knife work and unstoppable wok skills, giving the unit members a state of ecstasy.
Moreover, his performance, in which even a flapping chicken is disciplined and his eyes shine like a master when he grabs a knife, brings a fresh breeze to Gangrim outpost. As Gang Seong-jae says, "Sincerely made delicious food has the power to move people's hearts," meal times are bringing joy to all the soldiers. This raises curiosity about what secret techniques are hidden in cook Gang Seong-jae's touch that will boost the soldiers' morale with delicious food.
Especially near the end of the video, with Gang Seong-jae wearing a bright smile, an unfamiliar voice saying "Welcome, hero" appears, sparking intriguing curiosity about the identity of the voice that warmly welcomes private first class Gang Seong-jae.
