Hollywood celebrity blogger Perez Hilton (Perez Hilton, 48) shared that he survived a life-threatening episode from sepsis and thrombosis and is miraculously recovering.
Recently, Perez Hilton, who was hospitalized for 21 days with sepsis and faced a life-or-death situation, on the 9th (local time) posted on his social media a video showing him beginning to walk again with the aid of a walker.
Along with the video, he wrote "Finally I can walk again!" expressing his deep emotion. He added, "The pain is still pronounced but bearable. I thank God for letting me recover," and became teary-eyed.
Previously, Perez Hilton took an influenza medicine on an empty stomach, which caused a gastric ulcer and perforation, and this led to life-threatening sepsis, leaving him hospitalized for more than three weeks.
On top of that, just before his discharge he felt extreme pain in his leg; detailed tests found a "massive clot" (deep vein thrombosis) extending from his groin down past his calf, and he underwent emergency surgery. He recalled the tense moment, saying, "If the clot had traveled to my heart or lungs, it would have been truly horrific."
Fortunately, the surgery was successful, and immediately after the operation he endured intense pain and devoted himself to rehabilitation, eventually being able to put his foot down again. He declared a strong will to fully recover, saying, "I will get stronger every day, and I will be that way!"
Perez Hilton, who gained worldwide fame after launching his Hollywood gossip blog in 2004, was once at the center of controversy for his harsh remarks about stars such as Britney Spears, but recently has focused on reflecting on his past mistakes and on life as a father raising three children.<
