Actor Baek Seora even sang an OST for "Doctor Shin."
On the 5th, OST production companies Story Peak and XP for TV CHOSUN's weekend drama "Doctor Shin" released OST Part 3 "Call my name," sung by Baek Seora, on various online music sites.
In "Doctor Shin" (written by Pi Bi (Lim Seong-han), directed by Lee Seung-hoon), Baek Seora is starring as Momo, an ill-fated top star who suffers brain damage in an unexpected accident. Even before the broadcast, Baek Seora, who was noted as Lim Seong-han's new muse, captivated viewers with her uniquely mysterious visuals and deep psychological portrayal, and through this OST participation she proves her spectrum as an artist beyond acting.
The new song "Call my name" expresses the identity confusion Momo experiences in the drama and her tender feelings toward Joo Shin (played by Jung I-chan), who tries to protect her. Baek Seora fully immersed herself in the character during the recording and poured sincerity into each line of the lyrics, and her clear yet plaintive tone allows listeners to fully feel Momo's pain in the drama.
# lim seong-han's daring narrative, reborn as music
Lim Seong-han, who has showcased distinctive narratives such as "The Little Mermaid" and "Princess Aurora," deals with daring themes in "Doctor Shin" as well, including the realm of gods and forbidden love. In particular, while Solomon Lee's Part 2 "You left only your scent with me," which was used in the snowman scene in episode 2 and sparked discussion, stimulated lyrical emotions, Baek Seora's song represents the feelings of top star Momo, who fell into a coma after an unexpected accident. Throughout the lyrics there are traces of the fear of losing oneself and the longing toward a loved one.
The production team said, "By having the actor directly express the character's emotions through song, Momo's true feelings that could not be fully conveyed through dialogue will be delivered more deeply to viewers," noting, "The synergy of acting and singing will raise the drama's immersion to its peak."
# after Ha Jin and Solomon Lee, even Baek Seora… "Doctor Shin" OST's runaway success
While Part 1 by Ha Jin, "Remember," and Part 2 by Solomon Lee have been receiving good responses on the charts, the addition of lead actor Baek Seora is expected to be the crowning touch of the "Doctor Shin" OST lineup. In particular, this song is said to be even more meaningful because actor Baek Seora prepared it by practicing repeatedly amid a busy filming schedule for her fans.
"Doctor Shin" airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 p.m., and a new OST song is released every Sunday.<
