LIGHTSUM member Juhyun surprised fans by revealing a self-composed song for her birthday.
On the 8th, Juhyun released a live clip of her self-composed song "April" through LIGHTSUM's official SNS channel (members: Sangah, Chowon, Nayoung, Hina, Juhyun, Yujeong). The video was released at 4:08 p.m. on April 8, Juhyun's birthday, which added significance.
"April" is a song that evokes Juhyun, who resembles a warm spring, and carries the meaning that she blooms like a flower thanks to the love of her fans. In the video, Juhyun captivated viewers with an unadorned appearance as she blew soap bubbles and looked at flowers against the backdrop of a springtime park.
Juhyun said, "'April' is the first solo self-composed song I give to fans to mark my birthday. I am glad and happy to be able to present a song that contains my voice and my heart as a small token of gratitude," adding, "I hope 'April' becomes a song people think of whenever April comes. I want to continue to share a variety of songs."
Earlier, Juhyun first earned a composing credit by participating in the composition of "Skyline," a track on LIGHTSUM's second mini album "Honey or Spice," released in October 2023. Through her self-composed song "April," Juhyun further clarified her unique musical color and strengthened her standing as an artist.
LIGHTSUM, of which Juhyun is a member, will perform a celebratory stage ahead of the opening game between the Rising Eagles and the North Gyeongsang Fire Department's "Passionate Basketball Team" at the Gyeonggi-do Hwaseong City Sports Complex on the 11th. The Rising Eagles are a team formed through SBS's basketball variety show "Passionate Basketball Team," coached by basketball legend Seo Jang-hoon, with K-pop stars and entertainers participating as players.
