Actor Byeon Woo-seok wondered why K content excites audiences around the world.
On the afternoon of the 7th, the cable channel tvN aired the documentary "I am K," which explored the reasons and essence of the K content syndrome.
In the broadcast, film director Park Chan-wook and actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Jun-ho, Yim Siwan, Byeon Woo-seok, Lim Yoona, Lee Chae-min and Lee Jung-eun appeared as interviewers to ask fans around the world why they like K content.
After the success of the drama "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty," Lim Yoona, who met global fans while holding fan meetings, said, "This is the first time I've done a drama fan meeting tour like this, and I chose the work 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty' because I found it interesting that food serves as a medium that creates situations and enables emotional exchange between characters," and added, "Because it's a historical drama with comic elements mixed in, I thought some people would really like it and some people would really dislike it, but many people enjoyed it very much."
Lee Chae-min, who gained popularity with "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty," exclaimed, "It may be a genre unfamiliar to people from other cultures, but some people came to fan meetings wearing the clothes Lee Heon wore. They imitated lines from the drama, and that surprised me."
Byeon Woo-seok, who rose to stardom with the 2024 drama "Lovely Runner," said, "I'm really curious. What is it about this that makes people like it so much?" expressing his wonder at why K content is loved.
Byeon Woo-seok said, "I couldn't imagine that this actually happened to me and that I would have this level of popularity. I thought the power of K content has become really strong."
Meanwhile, Yim Siwan, curious about the popularity of K content, said, "I hope you personally send the reasons to my social media," which drew attention.
