Actor Kim Nam-gil, who debuted as a singer, received a sharp reprimand from his mother because of a long fan meeting.
Cable channel tvN You Quiz on the Block released a pre-broadcast clip on the 8th through its official channel titled "Kim Nam-gil debuted as a singer to hold a 5-hour fan meeting(?). His parents' rebuke and the show's first live reveal."
On the day, Yu Jae-seok announced Kim Nam-gil's singer debut and said, "My father listened to the song and silently went into his room," as his reaction.
In response, Kim Nam-gil said, "At the table I told my mother and father, 'a song is playing, listen to it,' but my father said nothing, just went 'ahem...' and went into his room. He left after the first verse ended," and added, "My mother asked, 'But is this song by Hanni?' I think I understand why she said that."
Yu Jae-seok also mentioned an article headline saying "He debuted to hold a long fan meeting."
Kim Nam-gil said, "(This fan meeting) went over five hours, but I cut out a lot of time and came, but people around me say, 'Aren't you trying to satisfy your own desire?' officially."
He went on, "My mother said, 'That's all your selfishness.' On the day of the fan meeting she usually calls me affectionately 'son,' but she urgently called 'hey.' When I said I was going she said, 'Don't do it too long. Don't think only about yourself. Those people paid to come in, and it might be awkward for them to leave in the middle, so please don't do it so long,'" he said. It was a rebuke from his mother to her son who holds long fan meetings.
Kim Nam-gil added, "'Please' was left very much," drawing laughter. Kim Nam-gil will also reveal a live performance of his new song "I'm coming to you" on the broadcast.
