On the 7th TV CHOSUN variety show "X's private life" aired. The couple known as the dogfighting couple, Jin Hyun-geun. Gil Yeon-ju grants, and the couple eventually divorced.
The current status of the dogfighting couple, now two years since the divorce, was revealed. Jin Hyun-geun is living with his parents. He was working as a manager at a franchise pub. He always finished work at 4–5 a.m., with his nights and days reversed. Gil Hyun-geun starts his day looking at photos of his child. When he said he wanted to see the child, his ex-wife Gil Yeon-ju criticized him, saying "what a lie, then you should come to see the child if you want to; you don't come to see the child," showing a ruthless side.
Jin Hyun-geun said he lived on a weekly allowance of 20,000 won during his married life. Gil Yeon-ju said, "It was already a 50 million won debt (that she lied about before marriage). It's his fault." But now, after the divorce, Jin Hyun-geun said he buys what he wants. He showed himself managing himself, exercising and even reading books. He added, "I heard reading is good when you're having a hard time, so I started it a few months ago," showing he was nourishing his mind with reading, to which his ex-wife Gil Yeon-ju said, "what a lie," and Kim Gu Ra defended him, saying, "Still, he's changed a lot. He must be calming his anger."
Later, Jin Hyun-geun went to work as a pub manager. With monthly sales of 50 million won including deliveries, he received praise from the owner and CEO. They said sales have risen by 20 million won every month since he came here. He proudly said, "Since it's a franchise that operates a main branch, I try to do better." The owner and CEO who work with him said, "It's such a waste for you," and told him, "Don't live like you did before the divorce." Jin Hyun-geun said, "Because of Gil Yeon-ju we fought a lot and the work I do wasn't respected," adding, "I had a hard time with her dismissive attitude."
Watching this on the monitor, Gil Yeon-ju said, "If you wanted to be recognized, you shouldn't have brought the debt."
Jin Hyun-geun, who went to work as a pub manager, later video-called his child and said, "My son is the reason I live; I hope my son stays healthy," adding, "My mental health is also important. There were many fights and I suffered mental abuse, so I felt a lot of guilt." He showed a father's wish that his child be able to laugh when he wants to. Moved to tears talking about his son, Jin Hyun-geun said, "There were times my child forced a smile," and "When we have visitation, he smiles brightly; on the other hand, seeing him smile puts my mind at ease."
Singer Jang Yoon Jeong also said with regret, "No matter what, you shouldn't show fighting in front of the child." Then, watching the monitor, Gil Yeon-ju, seeming full of complaints, said, "I have so much to say," adding, "He says he's loving and sorry for not being able to do more, so then he must come to every visitation," and "Shouldn't he come in person to see the child?" She claimed that after moving to Cheongju he does not come often. Gil Yeon-ju said, "If he had come a few times, I would have gone to where he was," showing conflict over visitation.
Moreover, with the continuing fights the child was eventually neglected. Worse, the endless fighting in front of the child left the MCs at a loss for words. The panelists all said, "Stop it," and "Both are right but don't do it in front of the child." They added, "It's regrettable to spend half of the precious time with the child like that." At the unbridged differences of opinion, the panelists lamented, "Is this why they met?"
