It was confirmed for the 27th and the full countdown has begun.
Hype Princess will release their first mini album, 17.7, on May 27 and officially debut. The member profile and album jacket images released ahead of the debut capture the group's distinctive tasteful mood and the seven members' seven different personalities, heightening anticipation.
This debut album, 17.7, is the first result that symbolically captures the process by which Hype Princess fought through an audition program to finally secure their debut. The album title, 17.7, refers to the members' average age when the group was formed, and is meaningful as a symbolic number that faithfully records the energy and potential of this moment.
The included tracks also fully show the team's identity. It includes a total of five songs, including gOOd! (H//PE P ver.), DAISY (H//PE P ver.), which were presented on the audition program, and the new song Stolen produced by Gaeko of Dynamic Duo, the Korean hip-hop legend who served as the program's main producer. From their debut work, they captured both the team's narrative and musical direction, realizing Hype Princess's distinctive color.
Above all, the profile images and album jacket released this time proved another competitive edge of Hype Princess. Each member radiates seven different charms with different atmospheres and styling, visually realizing the group's free and confident energy. Hype Princess participated in the entire creative process, including visuals as well as music, to assertively express their own colors, and through this they are determined to grow into a global hip-hop role model for a new generation.
Hype Princess is a seven-member global hip-hop group created through Mnet's Korea-Japan joint audition program Unpretty Rapstar: Hip Hop Princess, produced by CJ ENM. It consists of Koko, YSY (Yoon Seoyoung), Yuju, Doi, Rino, Niko and Sujin, and based on the narratives built through the audition and each member's individuality, they will launch full-scale global activities.
They drew industry attention even before their debut because they are the first artists introduced by Chapter-I, a company co-founded by CJ ENM and Hakuhodo, and because Amoeba Culture is in charge of co-management. Added to that was the recent news of a global contract with Warner Music Group, raising expectations that this is a major project aimed at the global market beyond Korea and Japan.
Even before their debut, interest is focused on what kind of music Hype Princess—with a global collaboration lineup, a high-quality production system and a clear team color—will present to the public. Attention is on Hype Princess's first steps, which will be the starting point for a new global hip-hop group that encompasses music, visuals and performance.
