Actor Park Geon-hyung reveals the "shrimp back" episode that occurred between Kim Sooro and Eom Ki-joon on Radio Star. From the story of how he, caught between two close senior colleagues, tried to keep the balance and ended up in an awkward situation, to the behind-the-scenes of the legendary clip in which he was punished during Real Men training because of his girlfriend, and the process by which he was crowned the "national thief" after marrying a wife 11 years his junior, and the proposal in Paris and wedding behind-the-scenes, he unfolds a variety of stories.
MBC's Radio Star, airing today (8th) (planned by Chey Yoon-chung / directed by Yoon Hye-jin, Hwang Yoon-sang, Byun Da-hee), is presented as a special titled "The King's Warden and the men who live with him" featuring Kim Sooro, Eom Ki-joon, Park Geon-hyung and Kim Hyeong-mook.
That day Park Geon-hyung said that his longtime close seniors Kim Sooro and Eom Ki-joon have opposite extremes of personality and that he plays the "balancing role" between them, and he directly mentioned situations that occurred between the two, bringing laughs. In addition, by interpreting the three main characters in "Art," he raises interest further by adding the story of producer Kim Sooro.
The story continues to Park Geon-hyung's college days at Seoul Institute of the Arts with Kim Sooro and Kim Hyeong-mook. He reveals a surprising past in which, wanting to stand out, he grew his hair and carried a guitar case, and he confesses all the dark episodes from his college days hidden behind his distinctive visuals.
He also has the audience in stitches with witty storytelling that divides Kim Hyeong-mook's unexpected character into "head-chest-stomach" and unpacks episodes accordingly. He conducts a "three-part analysis," mentioning Kim Hyeong-mook's past—who was thought to be a serious senior in college—and an eyewitness account of tears at a performance that became an icon of overinvolvement, and even his impression of Park Jin-Young on Radio Star.
Recalling his time on Real Men, Park Geon-hyung also reveals behind-the-scenes of the legendary moment. He explains the process by which he was punished during training over a situation related to his girlfriend and recounts the circumstances at the time. He also shares behind-the-scenes of his marriage to a wife 11 years his junior. Along with the background to the nickname "national thief," he draws attention by telling the moving Paris proposal he prepared to win his wife's heart and stories related to the wedding.
Earlier, Park Geon-hyung married Lee Chae-rim, his wife who is 11 years younger, in October 2014. The couple had two precious children after three miscarriages, and they drew attention when they appeared together on tvN STORY's Donggul Castle in 2021.
You can see Park Geon-hyung, who shares a variety of stories from his relationships with close seniors to the behind-the-scenes of Real Men that became legendary memes, and on to his marriage, on Radio Star, which airs tonight (8th) Wednesday at 10:30 p.m.
