Actor Wi Ha-jun spoke about the genre he wants for his next project and his thoughts on being a regular on variety shows.
On the afternoon of the 8th, at a cafe in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, a wrap-up interview was held with Wi Ha-jun of tvN's "Siren."
That day, when asked if there was a mood he wanted for his next project, he said, "I want to do a romantic comedy the most. I mentioned it on "Salon Drip," and our previous work was "Spring Fever." That kind of rom-com? I'm from Jeollado so it would be nice to even use the dialect, but a simple country 'teto man.' Meeting a woman and being flirty, also a bit of a 'aegen' man. I think that would match my real image well, and I want to do that kind of human-scented rom-com," he said.
He continued, "I also have thoughts about comedy. So on variety shows I exaggerate more and try to be funny. But that doesn't seem to lead to projects."
When asked what "rom-com" is to Wi Ha-jun, he showed confidence, saying, "I think it's a work that can show my true charm."
Asked about his thoughts on being a fixed member on variety shows after appearing on several programs, he lamented, "I've been really worried about it lately. For promotional variety shows I go on them as much as I can, but they seem to end up as one-offs. Should I be a regular on a variety show to show a more human side? I've really been worrying about it recently."
He added, "If I really had to do only talk, I wouldn't be confident, but I can do well and feel comfortable doing sincere one-on-one shows like "Salon Drip" or "Fairy Jae-hyung." Going to the countryside and communicating with elders on variety shows, like "Bogum Magical,"" he said.
Wi Ha-jun also said, "My older sister is a hair designer, and since childhood I've tried all sorts of hairstyles. I shaved the heads of my junior soldiers in the military, and when I watched "Bogum Magical" I liked it. I thought it would be good to appear on that kind of variety show."
