Anne Hathaway showed affection for Korean culture.
On the 8th at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, a promotional press conference for the film 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' was held. Actors Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway attended the event.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 tells the story of legendary fashion magazine Runway's editor Miranda and Andy, who returns as a features editor after 20 years and reunites with Emily, who has become an executive at a luxury brand, and of how she stakes her entire career to regain leadership in the fashion world amid a completely changed media environment. Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, along with Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, the stars who led the success of the previous film, are participating again, drawing attention.
Playing a fashion features editor in the film, Anne Hathaway, when asked about "luxury brands that come to mind when you think of Korea," began, "First of all, right now Korea is leading the culture of a very young generation. It seems to have many strengths in many areas worldwide."
She continued, "Especially music. Many fashions and skin care are excellent, and interest is high. There is a wealth of content. If I were a features editor, I think I would plan to emphasize these aspects."
Meryl Streep joked, "I am very interested in Korean barbecue. That's because I spent a lot of time in LA, and there was a restaurant near the hockey rink where my son played many games."
She added, "I agree with everything Anne said. When we are in the United States, the news we hear about Korea is about Korean culture. I have six grandchildren, and they talk about 'K- content' every day, they like the songs, and they are heavily influenced by K culture. It seems to show how connected the world is. Even when we are apart, don't we influence each other a lot? I didn't grow up like that, so I like that people rely on and are connected to each other."
Anne added, "Additionally, if we were fashion editors, we would want to interview many people. I think I would like to interview directors Park Chan-wook and Bong Joon-ho."
