That day PD Ahn said the reason he cast Kim Ji-young and Yoon Soo-young was, "There was a response that it's good to recently see diverse appearances of diverse couples. Now that our program is in its ninth year, we are focusing on showing the new looks of various couples," and "In the case of the Kim Ji-young couple, they are quite young compared with couples previously featured on 'Same Bed, Different Dreams,' and Kim Ji-young is someone who young people are interested in."
He added, "So unlike existing couples, we cast them because we thought we could show what young, talked-about couples like the Kim Ji-young couple look like living together and what kind of newlywed life they lead."
PD Ahn recalled the couple's first meeting and said, "There were two points that made the husband look likable when I first met him. The first was that he looked much more handsome in person than in wedding photos or SNS photos. He was tall and well proportioned."
He continued, "Second, this person had vaguely thought since childhood that he wanted to do work that benefits the world, so as his business succeeded he thought about what could make the world better and created a book club platform. Seeing that reminded me of my own childhood."
