Jang Do-youn, Lee Da-hee, Choi Daniel, Jang Geun-seok, Ahn Jae-hyeon and Kyung Soo-jin will be responsible for viewers' dopamine on Friday nights with an unusual cohabitation.
tvN's Gukidong Friends, directed by Lee Seyoung, which will premiere at 8:35 p.m. on the 10th (Fri), is an observational reality show that captures the current trend of adults who like being alone but dislike loneliness and the era's flow toward loose solidarity. Ahead of the first broadcast, we looked at the viewing points of same-age "dongsachin (people who live together as friends)" living under one roof.
#. Bold and daring! a new observational reality show tvN will present!
tvN's new project Gukidong Friends goes beyond simple cohabitation to boldly and daringly depict forms of housing, lifestyles and ways of relating. Through the every move of Jang Do-youn, Lee Da-hee, Choi Daniel, Jang Geun-seok, Ahn Jae-hyeon and Kyung Soo-jin gathered at the Gukidong house, it shows a new way of living together and offers fresh fun and emotion.
In a survey of 423 men and women aged 20 to 49 in the Consumer Insight panel, 35.4% of all respondents were positive about the 1.5-household lifestyle and 15.5% were negative, showing a predominance of positive responses. Preference was highest among women in their 30s at 44.7%, and residents currently living with roommates recorded a 1.5-household life preference of 64.9%, indicating modern people's view of 1.5 households and increasing interest in Gukidong Friends.
#. Solo dwellers will relate! you can see yourself in those whose combined years living alone total 80!
Choi Daniel, who has lived alone for 20 years, Jang Geun-seok and Kyung Soo-jin, who have lived alone for 14 years, and other "dongsachin" whose combined time living alone totals 80 years have become so accustomed to being alone that they showed unfamiliarity and concern about living under the same roof with others. Also, because their personalities, tastes, lifestyles and values are all different, the six's bumpy cohabitation as they understand and adapt to each other raises interest.
Especially when living alone, after work the house is dark and silent and lonely, and solo meals were natural; the six, who now have a bright and warm Gukidong house where a "dongsachin" who can do anything with them waits, face various emotions they had forgotten. The "dongsachin" moments that feel even the most trivial, everyday instants differently are expected to elicit viewers' empathy.
#. a relationships hotspot! the chemistry of Jang Do-youn, Lee Da-hee, Choi Daniel, Jang Geun-seok, Ahn Jae-hyeon and Kyung Soo-jin!
The colorful chemistry of Jang Do-youn, Lee Da-hee, Choi Daniel, Jang Geun-seok, Ahn Jae-hyeon and Kyung Soo-jin, who became one household, is also a major viewing point. They share not only the house but also big and small dreams they wanted to fulfill with their "dongsachin," things they can attempt because there are many of them, and counseling about worries they can open up about because they are peers, building memories together.
Sometimes warm and sometimes bickering, sometimes shedding tears and sharing joy and sorrow, the relatable, human-scented episodes of the "dongsachin" and the relationships among the six confirmed within them provide definite pleasure.
With such a pleasant and realistic cohabitation of "dongsachin," tvN's Gukidong Friends, which will bring energy to Friday evenings, will premiere at 8:35 p.m. on the 10th (Fri).<
