Foreign media are paying attention to BTS day after day.
U.S. entertainment outlet People reported, "'21st-century pop icon' BTS has once again captivated fans around the world with a dark dystopian fantasy."
On the 7th (local time), BTS unexpectedly released the music video for "Hooligan," the third visual work from their new album "Arirang (ARIRANG)," on their official social media and YouTube channels. Following the previously released "SWIM" and "2.0," the video boasts BTS's overwhelming scale.
People said, "The 'Hooligan' music video is set against a dystopian worldview where dark landscapes unfold. In the video, the members exude a powerful presence as they are surrounded by masked dancers atop a red platform in front of a palace, and citizens pass through strange, gloomy passages suspended in midair, creating a dreamy yet destructive atmosphere."
They added, "The song's message is also powerful," and praised, "RM's powerful rapping, murmuring 'Watch this, watch this beat goin' hooligan / We pop out, we actin' a fool again (this beat is going crazy, we start again),' fully conveys BTS's steadfast energy and confidence."
In particular, this album "Arirang" is especially meaningful as it marks the group's first full-group comeback in about four years after all BTS members completed their military service. Returning after a long wait since 2022's "Proof," they deliver sincere confessions and words of thanks to ARMY through this 14-track album.
Their global activities are also unstoppable. BTS launched a world tour starting this year in the United States and will travel to Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain and other countries, and the tour is expected to continue through 2027.
Having broken the military hiatus and returned with 'record-breaking' visuals and music, the world music industry is focused on the new records BTS will set.
